Margarita and Los Roques
I am inspired to catch up on Blogging about my travel adventures. This was from November 2016.
In Margarita, an Island owned by Venezuela, and also Los Roques, people lead a typical Island lifestyle. It is relaxed and filled with good vibes. You take a "lancha", which is a small motor boat from one island to the next-- that is how it is with all of the islands in VZ.
November 18-20th
After we took off for Margarita, I love seeing the view of this famous bridge in Maracaibo!
The sunsets are unbelievable.
My travel buddy who won himself a plane ticket to Margarita during an EBV family BINGO night. And then who won the championship for both his middle school and high school girls basketball teams. Pretty amazing!
November 24-27th
In Los Roques, I wore pounds of sunblock, but still got burned anyway. The sun beats down on you from sunrise to sunset. Unless you are "lucky" enough to be there in the middle of a storm. Unfortunately for our group, there was a hurricane affecting the caribbean and so we suffered some of the effects while we were in Los Roques.
Los Roques Crew
and plane behind us!
The incredible views of Los Roques.
Conch shells are everywhere, full and beautiful!
We visited a turtle sanctuary.
We got caught in the middle of a storm on one of the islands. This happened twice.
We wanted to see the sun rise...
But it never came through the clouds!
We stayed at Posada Lagunita. It was incredible how well they took care of us: 3 course meals and boat rides to the near islands were covered under the cost when we paid for it. The staff was also super friendly.
